What Are 'Appointments' at UO?
At the University, appointments refer to job assignments. An appointment begins at the start of a new job and any time an employee moves jobs within the university.
Initial appointments and all subsequent changes require documentation, and records are kept within the university's employee record management system in Banner. The Data Team in University HR Operations is responsible for the oversight and completion of appointment records, which are submitted through the forms uploads.
There are several types of appointments at the university, and in the navigation to the right are links with guidance on how to process renewals or set up new appointments.
Most commonly, faculty are renewed through the Request to Offer form known as an RTO.
