If your leave is eligible for protections under FMLA and OFLA, the university will continue to pay its portion of your health insurance premiums, as long as you continue to pay your portion of your premiums. Your portion will continue to come out of your paycheck while you are on leave. If you receive a paycheck for an amount less than your portion of premiums, or if you are in an unpaid status (ex., while receiving short-term disability), then you will receive a notice from the Benefits Office. This notice will be sent to your home address, and will let you know your monthly premium share, when payment is due, and where to remit payment. This notice will also tell you if there are optional insurance benefits which you may continue or allow to lapse while you are off work, and then resume upon your return.
