Process Change Effective February 1:
To ensure compliance with OEPA, all appointments and pay actions for career and fixed term faculty (visiting, pro tem, post doctoral, and retired), including librarians, were previously subject to central review by the Office of the Provost or the Vice President for Research & Innovation. Beginning February 1, 2020, the review of these actions is now be delegated to the unit/department. Evaluation of all these actions remains a requirement prior to entry into MyTrack, but the process is no longer subject to central review and approval by the Office of the Provost or the Vice President for Research and Innovation (OTP and VPRI).
The Oregon Equal Pay Act (OEPA) requires the university ensure that employees performing work of comparable character are receiving equitable pay and if there are variances those are appropriately documented. The Career and Fixed Term Faculty Pay Action Form is designed to assist units as they consider salary placement and to provide documentation that we are compliant with OEPA by ensuring salary placement is justified appropriately. The form provides steps to evaluate and support salary determinations based on documented factors and is expected to accompany all appointments and pay actions for career and fixed term faculty appointments (visiting, pro tem, post doctoral, and retired), including librarians. This form does not apply to EC Cares or Tenure-Track Faculty pay actions.
