A position vacancy provides the opportunity for a supervisor to evaluate whether that position would be appropriate for a flexible work arrangement (FWA). Where remote work can meet the University’s operational needs, the ability to offer flexible work locations can be a strategic advantage, especially when recruiting for difficult-to-fill positions. Prior to launching a recruitment for a position, supervisors are encouraged to review the Position Eligibility information and make a decision about the feasibility of a FWA for the position. If the supervisor determines the position is eligible for a FWA, language can be included in the job ad and the position description to reflect this. Below is some sample language that can be used.
